A Good Home

First Night Design | Surviving on a Positive Note — An Honest House by Cynthia Reyes

A lovely example of bloggers collaborating — and honouring each other’s creations too. If you haven’t visited Sarah’s blog or seen her art, please do.

The delightful Cynthia Reyes saw my ‘survivor’ drawing (below) when I posted about the reason for my hiatus and said she was going to buy several of these postcards to add to promotional copies of her newly published book, An Honest House: A Memoir, Continued. Since both our lives have been and are formed by the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, she appreciates the sentiment as much as I do! Thank you, Cynthia for being as good as your word!

  1. Well, look there, on the right side of your blog… you wrote a book… I am blind to banner adds, etc. that I had not even noticed. I went to Amazon.com for some other stuff and picked up a copy of your first menior. I’ll put it in the queue for reading (currently working on Plutarch’s Lives, but only need to get through Julius Ceaser by Memorial Day weekend, as we are seeing Shakespeare’s version of the story).

    1. Hooray! Thank you. Seriously: in this day of many books, it’s a real vote of confidence when someone buys my book. Thank you, Oscar. And even more seriously: Plutarch’s Lives – you’re a serious reader, you.

  2. I should get your book and take time to read it. You are a big inspiration. I will send you a note on FB, I would love to ask a personal question.

  3. Isn’t that the thing about blogging though? It’s much more than meets the eye?

(Incidentally, Plutarch’s Lives is good and eminently readable, if you like Roman history.)

  4. Cynthia, I suspect there are a lot of “survivors” walking in our midst. It seems to be a common bond between writers too. The postcard, like your memoirs, is pure elegance.
Blessings from one survivor to another ~ Wendy
