This is a tender and deeply affecting story told with both honesty and elegance. At times, as I read, I felt as if I was having a conversation with a dear friend over a cup of tea. Other times, as I scribbled notes in my journal or highlighting some parts on the Kindle Reader, I felt as if I was listening to a mentor; there’s so much wisdom in this book.
Reyes has a way of making the reader feel as if she is talking to or writing only just for them. Yet the book is about overcoming (hers), love and support from her loved ones, the church community and professionals instrumental in her healing, as well as gratitude to everyone in her life.
There are so many things I loved about this story. I enjoyed reading the book immensely, even though at times I had to blink back tears. And I fully agree, the author “writes beautifully even when she hurts.” In all, An Honest House is a loving home and a highly recommended read.
That is a beautiful review. I loved that book and had similar feelings. Thank you sharing your gifts Cynthia and have fun with your keynote talk.
A wonderful review–no wonder it perked you right up. Timing can be everything.
Perfect, as I’m sure your presentation will be, as well! Stay healthy, Cynthia.
This is a very beautifully written review by Khaya, Cynthia, and well deserved. What a wonderful thing to find!
An excellent review, Cynthia, and so well deserved. Sorry I will not hear your address for International Women’s Day.
How nice to get a boost just when you need it. Stay well.
I agree with Khaya! Good luck with your speech.
Oh, wonderful!
A good review! May your talk go well and you shake that winter illness. I hear more birds in the morning too so it must be spring!
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been sick, Cynthia, but congratulations on the wonderful review!!

Thanks, Derrick. Hope you and Lady J. and family are doing well. I was talking about Nugget last week!
We are, Cynthia. Nugget would be pleased. 🙂 Thank you very much.
A lovely review, one that could keep you writing for days. –Curt
Yes indeed, Curt. Hope you’re doing well.
I can certainly see why that message would make you forget about the woes of the day…how very lovely. Hope you are feeling better.
Thank you, Karen. I hope all goes well with you. (Or at least the main things.)
What a lovely review and one with which I agree totally! Keep safe and well. Cynthia. xx
You deserve every fabulous review you get, Cynthia. I have purchased your newest, but with so many books here (my downfall), I can never tell which I’ll read next. I roam around like a nomad … but I sure do look forward to it!
Thanks for purchasing my book, dear Jeanne. It is much appreciated. You stay safe these days, okay?
