Food for Thought: Perfection

I stumbled upon this quote by Voltaire and it really resonated with me: “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good” .

So often our hunger for perfection makes us devalue what is right in front of us. It’s an easy trap to fall into since it takes barely any effort at all to compare ourselves to others. I’m guilty of this. All. The. Time.

In those moments of comparison or self-doubt, why not try switching it up and practice a little bit of old fashion gratitude? It’s pretty easy, just list out a minimum of five things that are going OK in your life. Don’t know where to start? Here’s my go-to list:

  • I live in the best city in the world: Toronto
  • My family is healthy and happy
  • I have a loving husband who is also my best friend
