One of the nicest things to do in Ontario’s early autumn, is to go for a drive in the country. We drove north of Bowmanville then east to Baltimore and Warkworth in Northumberland County. Northumberland County is east of Toronto, and is an area of outstanding natural beauty — especially in autumn.

Great photo compositions
Thank you, Marilyn!
How lovely to drive in the country enjoying the autumn colors and communities along the way. Happy Autumn Cynthia and Hamlin!
It was such a lovely drive, Brad. I am so grateful for it. And for the Autumn.
I love autumn drives!
Our forests are just staying GREEN this year. Sooooo, much water this year and warm days. We usually have peak color this week. We should have a frost in the next few days. We’ll see if Fall decides to come with it. – Oscar
Hmmm… I sure hope you get some colourful leaves soon. The colour arrived here a week or two later this year and last.
Oh, my gosh! So very, very beautiful! My kind of country.
Glad to know it’s your kind of country, Laurie. Maybe Maya will take a time-travel trip up to Quebec one of these days!
Maybe she will!
Beautiful fall images!
Thank you. There are several different shades, when you stop and look at the trees right now.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful photographs, Cynthia. We’re not having much color this year, so I appreciate yours.
Lovely colors. We’ve finally gotten cooler temps but our high color season is still a few weeks away.
I hope it came! Ours lasted longer this year.
Such beautiful country landscapes… looks really peaceful, Cynthia!
It is, Iris. Is it spring where you are?
Your husband takes wonderful photos Cynthia – and your world is very beautiful!
Nature is truly beautiful, my friend. We are fortunate.
It looks just like here!
I often marvel at how similar our natural environments appear to be.
Yes, they are much alike!
Lovely, thanks for sharing your autumnal experience. The rolled hay bales are a favorite of mine, as well as the (guessing) Maples in fall garb. Nothing like that here, enjoying Canadian fall from afar.
Glad to help you do so!
I would love to see that kind of countryside. Beautiful and I love the piglet.
I wish you could too. Ontario really is magnificent.
We have nothing like that here – we would have to drive two days to find that. Thanks for sharing!
Two days! We are fortunate to have such natural gifts right here.
Such beautiful country you live in, Cynthia and Hamlin! I especially love that little piglet and human baby. Cherished cherubs of different species. 🙂
So glad you picked up on the juxtaposition of those two images, Lavinia. Hamlin was deliberate in his storytelling choices.
Your part of the world has been on my bucket list for ages, Cynthia, and while I can’t come over I enjoy being taken along by you and your husband. Thanks for the pretty pics 🙂 Have I told you that my uncle lives in Canada? Happy autumn days!
I didn’t know that, Annette. I wish you could visit too!
Thanks for noticing the “reveal”, Derrick.
Fascinating gallery. Fun revelation of the piglet
Wow, what fabulous autumn colours. And I love the dear little pig.
Me too!
Beautiful photos. There is nothing like a drive in the country.
Lovely long-distances vistas, Cynthia 😊
Balm for the soul . . . thanks for sharing.
Beautiful, thank you. The picture of the cows was my favorite.
Such a lovely autumn photo essay! So enjoyed this post.
What a wonderful post! The views, the colours and that gorgeous little piglet!
Lovely gallery.
Oh, autumn! Beautiful photos to capture the day/season!
Wonderful photos … I just love autumn! Mind you, spring is pretty good too 😉
Beautiful photos of nature at it’s best including that adorable pig. Thank you for sharing.
Such wonderful photos. Thank you to both you and Hamlin. I felt like I took the ride with you!
Beautiful day trip, filled with the sights of autumn at its best!
So lovely to be able to unwind and enjoy Mother Nature…happy trails.
