The 2016 Diamond Book Awards Winner Is…

It’s been a great week. Our younger daughter and her beloved got married on Saturday, and now this. I’m beyond grateful. Big thanks to Kevin Cooper and the panel of judges.

  1. Big congrats to you on the book award, and congratulations on the wedding of your daughter! Big week! Good things, they do come! 🙂

  2. As our very dear English teacher Amy Lopes would say, “Splendid, Reyes, Splendid!!! Well done! Congratulations on a fabulous week! All my very best to you, Hamlin, daughter and husband.

    1. Miss Lopez was one of a kind, Lee. She and Mrs. Topham made English come alive for me at a young age. Mrs. Topham turned nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs into creatures — some chasing each other — while Miss Lopez taught us the great importance of the language. I also remember she once gave a fellow student a mark of 1/2 out of 100! It sent a strong message to all of us that every spelling mistake, and every missing comma or semi-colon took something away from our writing.

  3. What a week indeed! Congratulations all round really. I am also pleased to tell you that I have just heard Santa is leaving me two Cynthia Reyes books in my stocking this year 🙂 I’m looking forward to Christmas!

    1. Thanks, Clare! My best to you and Richard and the young ladies. Isn’t it great for us bloggers to “see” each other’s children reaching these important milestones? Best to Alice and Elinor, and thank you for your support of my family and my writing. It matters.

      1. You are kind as ever and I must thank you for your support too. I have been somewhat cranky of late and I apologise for any stupid comments I might have made.
I thank-you for your kind wishes and am so pleased for you and your family.

      2. Stupid comments? Huh? Now you’ve got me wondering what I have missed! (Tee hee…) Clare, you are a gracious woman, and with all the responsibilities you shoulder, you absolutely need to be cranky now and then, okay? So give it a real try!

  4. Congratulations, Cynthia!!! What wonderful news and so well-deserved. And I’m sure you were absolutely splendid at the wedding (The bride and groom were undoubtedly fabulous as well 🙂
    I’m so glad for you.

    1. The bride and groom were well organized and fabulous, as were father and the sister and brother-in-law. Then there was the mother-of-the-bride, who hates shopping, can’t stand fussy mother of the bride dresses, and got more miserable by the week. Finally, the two young ladies (bride and big sis) chose one from the internet, their father paid, and I got a dress that fit perfectly — and that I can wear again! I actually looked pretty good!

  5. Lol… Been reading through all your wonderful comments, Cynthia… They’re excellent… Just as it should be. 😉

  6. Great news Cynthia!! Well deserved.
    So proud of “our” book.
Congrats on your Daughter’s marriage. I pray they will have a Blessed life.
